I have walked out in rain—and back in rain. Robert Frost I think often about monotony and the writing life—what it means for our creativity when we become apathetic to change, irrespective of the cause. I speak from my heart here, as someone who started anti-anxiety meds Spring 2021 because I found myself trying to physically run (I love to run) and just—stopping— because I simply had no energy or will to continue. I was in the arms of apathy, physically and mentally. Apathy was not a question of choice, but brain chemistry and psychological distress.
